Barcelona are ‘confident’ that Liverpool ‘could find themselves being backed into a corner’ over Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Dutch midfielder has emerged as a key target for new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman, who worked with him closely during his time in charge of the Netherlands.
Wijnaldum has less than a year remaining on his contract at Liverpool, who must resist any attempts to sign him this summer.
Some reports even suggest that Wijnaldum has already agreed personal terms over a move to the Nou Camp, but his immediate future remains uncertain.
Goal describe Barcelona as ‘confident’ of securing the deal, however, as Liverpool ‘could find themselves being backed into a corner’ due to the precarious nature of his contract.
Koeman is ‘determined’ to sign a player Jurgen Klopp would rather keep, but Barcelona ‘need to move players out before bringing others in’.
Luis Suarez is expected to join Juventus this month, with Arturo Vidal bound for Inter Milan, while Ivan Rakitic has already returned to Sevilla.
