  • Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki is planning two friendly matches ahead of the AFCON qualifiers.
  • SAFA will reveal Bafana Bafana’s opponents in due course as discussions are ongoing.
  • The games are scheduled for early October with the venues and dates to be finalised.

Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki is planning two international friendly matches scheduled for October, the South African Football Association [SAFA] announced.

The national men’s team mentor wants to give his squad the opportunity to find their match fitness ahead of back-to-back 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers encounters against Sao Tome.

The AFCON qualifiers, including the tournament, were pushed back by several months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Coach Molefi Ntseki has been busy trying to tie down the two friendly matches – one on 7 October 2020 with the other pencilled for 11 October 2020 with two COSAFA opponents. He has already identified the two opponents but will announce the names once every detail has been finalised,” SAFA said in a statement released.

“After the October FIFA window period, Bafana Bafana will take on Sao Tome on 13 November at FNB Stadium before travelling to the islanders for the return game on 16 November 2020.

“Bafana Bafana will round off their AFCON qualifiers in March next year with a home game against Ghana before rounding off their campaign with an away match to Sudan.”
